Ronnie Cummins – Cook Organic, Not The Planet
Ronnie Cummins is the founder and director of the Organic Consumers Association (OCA), a nonprofit network of several million consumers who are dedicated to safeguarding organic standards and promoting a healthy, just, and sustainable system of agriculture and commerce. In 1998, Ronnie directed the Save Organic Standards campaign, which led efforts to keep GMOs, sewage sludge, and irradiation out of certified organic foods. Ronnie is the author of Genetically Engineered Food: A Self-Defense Guide for Consumers, and the editor of Organic Bytes newsletter, which reaches 650,000 people. Ronnie will reveal why organic food is essential to feeding the world’s growing populations, and how food production can sequester carbon in the soil to fight and even reverse climate change.
Ronnie is expert in organic food information. He said organic crops vastly outperforms industrial farming because of multiple crops in the same space. Organic is our best bet. Industrial farming may be producing more food per acre. But organic farms beat industrial farming as per their relation to pesticides and other toxic materials used. There are no safe levels of these toxic materials.Industrial farmings are the results of policies followed by them. That is reason we are getting super bugs. Global warming can adversly affect the food production. Excess carbon is culprit in this situation.
